My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your
ear to my words. Do not let them out of your
sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life
to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.

Living in the Present
Written by Sangita Evans

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! NOW it springs up;
do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19
One of the greatest challenges we face today is letting go of the past and living in the present. Our past memories, feelings, experiences and possessions can shape us into who we are. But, do they define who we are today? Perhaps. But if you're in Christ, our past no longer defines us- we are a new creation and our identity is defined by who God says I am.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
1 Peter 2:10
Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
You’d be amazed how many times the word LOVE is mentioned in the Bible- 686 times. But, the word NOW is mentioned 1207 times! God has constantly tried to bring us to the PRESENT; letting go of the past and showing us how He is always doing a new thing in our lives. I’ve realized that we serve a God who lives in the PRESENT. He is a God of the NOW. He doesn’t define himself as “I have always been, and I always will be.” But, defines himself in the PRESENT: God said to Moses, “I Am That I Am.” Even though the situation in our country is becoming more volatile, the temptation to stay in the present is at risk. This vulnerable state puts us in danger of the devil’s attack. He may have us linger in our past with nostalgia or even feelings of guilt and regrets. Better yet, the enemy may have you worried about tomorrow! God specifically gives us
Matthew 6:25-34 teaching us not to worry. He ends it with: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Just like I like to encourage people to purge the things that are no longer relevant in their lives and to honor the things and people around us, it’s the same concept with our spiritual walk. Forget the former things and come and follow Jesus. May our God Immanuel, (God with us, “I AM”) encourage you to let go of the past and be in the present with Him. Study and declare what God says about you! God is with you! It is not your past that defines who you are, nor the future that will determine who you will become. You are a child of God. Your identity is in Christ! Right here, right now.
Reflection:
* Who or what would you be, if all your past was erased?
* How would living in the NOW change your life?
Monthly Decluttering Practical's:
In the last couple of months you may have decided to pray more, cleaned your ”thought closet” and focused on your “WHY”. NOW let’s start to purge the things that are not relevant in your life anymore. Where is your highest concentration of "low- hanging fruit?" Find the things that are the easiest and quickest to get done or rid of. This will help locate your quickest decluttering wins. Are there expired food or meds you can throw out right now? Are you ready to recycle the old magazines and newspapers you don’t have time to read? Can you pick up the trash around the house and put it out of your home? Are there boxes that can be broken down and put outside to the trash bins? You’ll instantly have a sense of accomplishment and be ready for the spring cleaning coming ahead!

Stand Firm
Written by Karen Blanc
“ Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm
and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.
The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.
”
Exodus 14 v. 13
God has set the bar extremely high for our moral standards. On Mount Sinai, in the Holy Land of Israel, God gave Moses the 10 Commandments. They spell out, succinctly, the firm boundaries we have about the rule of moral law and the governing law in Israel. The Ten Commandments later spread to many countries across the world, including
the United States of America.
Unfortunately, the priests and the scribes, the spiritual leaders of Israel at the time, took the 10 Commandments and added many, many amendments to the law, making them into a total of 613 laws. These numerous laws made it almost impossible for anyone to obey.
Jesus Christ paid the price for us so we could be freed from the binding chains of the law. Because of the sacrifice of His life on the shameful cross, we are covered with His coat of Righteousness. Our sins are forgiven, past, present, and future, if we believe in Him as the Son of God and live according to His purpose.
Jerimiah 31:33
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Overcoming Financial Mistakes
Written by Kelly Ficarra
“ Then the angel said to her, do not be afraid Mary, for you
have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceivein
your womb and bring forth a son, and call his name Jesus.”
Luke 1:30-31.

Working for a debt consolidation firm I often speak to clients who are remorseful about their past financial decisions. When the economy is good, it is easy to live on the edge and spend everything you make with less chance of repercussions. But when adversity strikes, such as a job loss or a large, unexpected expense, it may prompt some regretful soul searching. Resurrection Sunday represents a time of rebirth and new beginnings. If you are currently reevaluating your relationship with money, get rid of the shame and blame. Jesus paid it all. We are forgiven through Christ and we must learn to forgive ourselves. Here are several truths to keep in mind.
First, God owns everything. For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). And by the way, He owns the hills too. We are only managers of what God as entrusted to us, and if we allow money to have too much power, we make it a god. No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24). Put God first, and everything else will fall into place.
Second, there is no problem too big for God. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33).
Right now, if you are facing insurmountable debt, or a reduction of income, know that God already has the solution. Challenges are inevitable, but that is when God is at his best and He wants to show up and show out. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Third, act. It is good to pray for an answer, but God is attracted to action – He is waiting for you to take that first step. Thus, also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17).
The action could be as small as putting together a monthly budget, making a list of all debts, or starting a savings account. Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…(Zechariah 4:10). God wants to steer you in the right direction, but He will only steer a moving ship. Do what you can, and God will step in and do what you cannot.

Make the sauce. Start by blending all of the ingredients for the red pepper feta sauce, then set it aside while you make the rest of the bowl components. This is a good time to get your toppings ready, too!

Cook the chicken. You’ll cook your ground chicken with diced onion and all of those yummy spices in a little olive oil.
-
Assemble the bowls. Spread some of the feta sauce into your shallow bowl, then add your rice, chickpeas, and ground chicken. Finally, top with cucumbers and pickled red onion, and garnish with extra feta, herbs, and a little olive oil. Serve it up with warm pita, or enjoy as is!
